  1. > While Gale is not interested in “Back to the Future 4,” he did reveal that he’s helping franchise star Michael J. Fox write a book about his experiences making the trilogy. The book is titled “Future Boy,” but no other details were revealed. The first “Back to the Future” movie will be celebrating its 40th anniversary later this year. The third and final “Future” film opened in 1990.

  2. Today I learned there’s a Back to the Future musical. Has anyone here seen it?

  3. Mark my words. Years after all the stars and creatives who worked on the films die there will be a fourth

  4. This was one of the most enjoyable trilogies I can think of. MJF is a gift. We don’t need a reboot or #4

  5. Fun fact, if BTTF took place today, Marty would go back to 1995.

  6. The third movie wasn’t Really that great either. But they had to finish it.

  7. *Back to the Future* is really one of the last of the early film franchises to not get a reboot. Gale and Zemeckis both have refused to do it so it would probably take both men passing for any new *Back to the Future* to be made.

Obviously, I’d prefer to leave the memories alone but I don’t see any reality in which this doesn’t get rebooted at some point.

Unless it’s absolutely superb, I’ll simply ignore it and pretend it doesn’t exist.

  8. Ohhh, sooooo annoying. People showing how much they liked your work and asking for more. How dare everyone be so annoying?

  9. GIVE ME TOM HOLLAND AS A MCFLY DESCENDANT YOU COWARDS.

  10. Shouldn’t they try making a Third film before a fourth..?

  11. The writers were told part 2 was happening with or without them. They really only had a great passion for the first.

  12. Some people will be forever hungry. The Disney Star Wars sequels are the exact reason why less is more

  13. Don’t we have enough sequels and prequels and reboots?

  14. BTTFU

I admire their stubbornness, it’s such a rare thing in the industry. And a BTTF film made today would be awful

  15. Starring…Timothee chamalet or Tom Holland ? Lol. Those two seem to be the choices nowadays.

  16. It’s been nearly forty years. We’re not getting a fourth movie.

A remake is the most plausible, and even that seems unlikely. It would either be a period piece exactly like the original (then why do it?) or it would be a modern day reboot set in the 90s (and who seriously wants that?).

Why make a fourth movie anyway? Trilogies are the sweet spot with film series.

  17. We didn’t even need a third. Just leave it alone

  18. I have heard that the main reason the cast is so adamant about not doing another is because they would be forced to do it without Michael J Fox, a man who has repurposed the delorean for Parkinson’s research and has expressed wanting to be a full time actor, but is physically unable to. He’s become the heart and soul of it over the years and because his disability will not allow him to participate meaningfully as an actor, they have fully junked the notion of continuing.

  19. Minute he dies “Back to the Futures” gets green lit

  20. Agreed. Fuck them. We don’t need a sequel or reboot. It’s perfect as is. But I do love the musical!

  21. Nothing wrong with that. It doesn’t need another movie. Smh

  22. The only way a fourth movie would be made is if any celebrity says yes to joining one. Which any self respecting celebrity wouldn’t say yes at all. That’s just what I think

  23. First off, the third movie was meh, so why make another one. Second, we honestly don’t need a fourth movie — WE. ARE. LIVING. IT.

The bad guy from BTTF, Biff Tannen, is based on Donald Trump!! We seem to be living in a fourth movie type scenario where it’s simply the alternative version of BTTF 2, where Marty didn’t actually save the day and “Hell Valley” was reality.

  24. The only new BTTF movie I’d want to get made is a movie adaptation of the musical.

  25. Let it continue to be the best film trilogy in history, can we please just respect things that have run their course?

  26. This is correct. And Robert agrees. Thank you both for telling the story and leaving it.

  27. The trilogy is great. Comics and spin off media for those that want them. I respect for not cashing in, or rather cashing in ways that don’t sell out the franchise.
