The General Staff also noted that the Ukrainian counteroffensive forced Russia to redirect significant resources to Kursk Oblast, weakening their positions on other fronts. As a result, Russia sought assistance from North Korea, which sent 12,000 of its soldiers to Kursk Oblast.
