New US Energy Secretary’s Idiotic Press Release. Chris Wright, has signed his first Secretarial Order. It directs the US DOE to “take immediate action to unleash American Energy”. The Order is full of lies and misinformation, and the press release about it, to be frank, is idiotic.

  1. Cleantech enables half the consumers to be energy selfsufficient.

Electrification of everything reduces primary energy used by 2/3.

The fossil cronies do not like that. They want to sell you as much fossil fuels as possible at the highest price possible.

It’s a fight for survival for them and they will steal as much money from the taxpayers as possible.

  2. This last line is funny – *RIP, American leadership on energy and technology. It was nice knowing you. Good morning, Idiocracy 2.0.*

We became the number one oil and gas producer under Biden and China eats our lunch on the production of like every major clean energy tech.

  3. It’s kind of hard to “unleash” American energy when it was never leashed. In fact both fossil fuel production and clean energy set new all time high records under the previous administration. And it clearly appears that Trump intends to “leash” the latter as his fossil fuel donors worry about wind, solar and electric vehicles constraining their future profits.

So this is how it’s going to be? Trump loyalists running major government departments basing US policy on Trump’s idiotic election lies? The competent career professionals at DOE must be shaking their heads in disbelief at the moron now running their department. God help us.

  4. And we expected what from these single-minded, empty headed, pseudo bureaucrats?

  5. My electric bill has averaged $15 a month for the last 5 years. My neighbor same house has gone from 130 – 265 in the same period of time.

  6. And probably the best written most coherent one we will see for the rest of our life…

  7. Really a shame for the good work of NREL . . . So much good work comes out of there.

  8. This is code for “let the fossil fuel Mafia pollute with impunity.”. Nothing more.

  9. Ownership requires money. Doesn’t mean he has the foggiest idea how to run the place, or a gov’t bureaucracy (re.g., Trump, Musk).

  10. US – are you guys OK?

Did someone poison the water supply or something?

  11. These guys have no plans at all. We’re already drilling so much oil that oil companies literally have no interest in doing more drilling at risk of just creating oversupply. I have a feeling that they only thing this administration is going to do is needlessly kneecap renewables and EV charging infrastructure.

  12. Put clowns in charge, expect a circus. All his appointments are sycophants with no experience to do the job. It’s a joke but more of a nightmare.

  13. Now that we are unleashed, egg prices will be dropping any minute

    wait for it…

  14. the funniest thing ever is that, the oil companies *don’t wanna* “drill baby drill”. it would hurt their prices!!!! they flat out told trump no and to go fuck himself, *after he was elected.* during the campaign season they were like “suuuuure boss whatever you say as long you’re not green energy”. now they’re like, fuck you boy!!!! to fatso. hahahahha!!!!! the environmentalists get some satisfaction after all for a moment. can’t wait to see republican gas prices go up! maybe it’ll make the republicans take care of this mess.

  15. He’s a specialist in fracking for gas and oil. If we increase the fracking process, that would introduce additional raw supplies upstream.

But the downstream is simply not capable of handling as much new domestic supply. And that’s where the big oil comes in. The new secretary, does not represent the refining and processing industry. Those are the guys who are responsible for delivering finished product to the consumer.

  16. The whole fucking administration is filled with nothing but bigotry and hollow slogans. Conservatives can’t grasp any concept too complex to fit on a number sticker.
