Lingonberries were so hard to find here…eventually found Felix brand at whole foods. I've never pickled anything and I was kinda intimidated so I just bought some premade…the dish was incredible though as a whole!

  1. That looks fantastiskt! Now I’m really sugen på köttbullar.

  2. Looks good! Since the dish is husmanskost, everyday food for the common person, I think premade pickled cucumber is a valid choice in a contemporary interpretation of it.

  3. Cucumbers are optional, but if you decide to make some youself in the future, try a “pressgurka” -recipe.

  4. Ceute Baller with a side of Smeure Geuze Goorkah, a fine cuisine indeed

  5. Looks alright. Did you use a small amount of allspice in the meatballs? I said small amount.

  6. This is miles better than 99% of all meatballs that get posted here. You should be proud!

  7. Now when you feast on your kottbueller you must sing softly for yourself “Markus du får inte stoppa köttbullar i näsan” like [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KE6FadhkDc).

A time honoured tradition, they also look very tasty this ex line cook gives you the thumbs up.

  8. I give 6,5/10 the sauce looks too watery not in enough cream is my guess. The mashed potatoes looks very shiny so my guess is that it doesn’t have the right texture.

    Presentation is 10/10 though

  9. That looks good enough for me to grab a spoon instead to scarf it down even faster!

  10. Looks freaking restaurant worthy 👌.

I’ve also enjoyed this with the version of where pickled the cucumber is chopped up into small cubes. It’s called “Boston gurka” over here but I’m not sure if it’s actually from Boston tho.

  11. Looks great! Remember to mention this in your immigration application

  12. Oh no, the yanks are culturally appropriating us! Woe! /s

Looks fantastic. Don’t worry about the inlagd gurka, everyone here buys premade. I want some!

  13. Work the balls harder next time. When it becomes a smooth paste that’s when you got the consistency right. This is vital if you want to get that springy bouncy texture of Swedish meatballs. Looks tasty though! I’d eat it and ask for seconds.
