I’ve acquired 40 boxes of imported instant japanese food for free – ramen, soba, udon, all sorts!

  1. Literally filled my car when the storage company that my work rents our office from was clearing a unit out for non-payment. They let me take as much as I wanted.

They were offered to food banks and other charities first, but no one wanted them because the best-before date is passed, and the packaging is only in Japanese. They were in the process of chucking them into a skip when they let me take some.

  2. i hope those are production dates not expiry dates on the side :p

  3. The authentic ones are the best, also great for when you have a cold

  4. I was about to say send them to your local food shelter but they might not accept food they can’t read

  5. Could make some decent money on eBay after sharing with friends and family

  6. Just in time for the collapse of civilisation! Luckyyyyyyy

  7. Lunch sorted for the next couple of years then 😂

  8. Prepare all of them and then choke on your good luck. Only joking but, yes, I am jealous.

    Enjoy!

  9. I live the Nissin ones they’re really good – plus it’s one of the few things I can get the kids to eat without fuss

  10. When you acquired this stash… were you drunk… or soba?

  11. Even expired, if stored right they are still good for years. I’ve had a few packs that are 2-3 years out of date and didn’t have any issue eating them.

  12. Those are some pretty staple brands in Japan. I wonder why the person had so much.

Enjoy but be careful of your sodium intake. They’re much tastier than the US and UK ones but they’re also much saltier as well.

Also, the one with the black label is a yakisoba style one. So it’s not meant to have soup, in case you haven’t tried it yet
