13. Genuinely feel like people are missing the point. You want your ambassador to a nation to be someone their government understands and respects. Who are Labour gonna send who has anywhere near the dodginess, sleaziness and unadulterated drive for power over principle of Mandelson? Mandelson understands these people and they’ll understand him. It’s a match made in heaven.

    Someone has to get an answer for why the UK ambassador was so close to a notorious sex trafficker of children.

15. Nothing dodgy about Pete. He is a Peer of the Realm after all. Only impeccable unimpeachable characters are elevated to the House of Lords. Sir Keir has great judgement of character and would not have selected him for US ambassador if he had any doubt about his integrity.
