  1. In Holland if I’m not mistaken you get them with complimentary Dutch gin!

  2. Have you ever had pickled herring though? Because it is delicious! I wouldn’t take it to eat at work though…it’s a bit marmite!

  3. High in fish oil. God forbid the working person gets their vitamins in during the work day.

  4. Lucky you. I would’ve stolen it and had it like Gollum in a dark empty space by the copier.

  5. I’ve rarely seen a thread that divides the ignorant from the uneducated from the wise so well.

    Rollmops are amazing.

  6. What’s wrong this this? My colleague ate surstromming in the office the other day….

  7. Ooh can occasionally get these in Lidl. Utterly gorgeous. The marinated anchovies from waitrose are even better.

Decent bread, welsh butter, bit of rollmop or marinated anchovy and an olive. Absolute heaven.

  8. Never seen anyone under 50 eat these but judging by the comments in here they’re quite popular…

  9. He’s a lucky fucker. Sainsbury’s have stopped selling them and I’m stumped as to where I can buy them from. Would also add, they’re the only savoury food item I’m extremely fond of that is impossible to enjoy in sandwich form.

  10. The epitome of nutritional supremacy. OP is jealous his packet of wotsits and a mars bar doesn’t measure up.

  11. Great. Reading this on the way to the corner shop to get a snack and now I’ve got to detour to Tesco’s and hunt for Rollmops! Food of the Gods with fishy breath.

  12. Used to have roll mops on the bar Sunday lunchtime at my dad’s pub.

  13. I ended up trying these in Amsterdam. They’re actually delicious.

  14. Went on a work trip to Finland once and everyone ate these in the office everyday, loved it.

  15. This is genuine style no 🧢 I eat mine straight from the jar. Having just one shows real restraint and love of a great snack!

  16. Fun fact:

In **German** it is called a **Rollmops**.

Translated to **English** this means **rolled pug** (the dog).
