  1. If Russia thinks it’s a good then I automatically think it’s a bad thing. But what if Russia knows many of us think the things Russia thinks are good things and Russia really think it’s a good thing but they’re tricking into thinking it’s a bad thing. /s

  2. I mean, yeah, it was. But Russia’s only saying this because now they get to interfere now instead, and their interference is markedly more… heavy handed.

  3. The USAID, which stands for the United States Agency for **International Development**, was formed during the **Cold War** to **spread American influence globally** and **counter** **~~Russian~~** **Soviet influence globally**, so of course the Russians would feel this way.

  4. Of course they would celebrate this.

Which is why Trump needed to destroy it

  5. Yeah, it’s a machine for interfering with malign Russian activities around the world.

Create a void and Russia will fill it.

80 years of Russian containment down the drain, brought to you by Trump and the tech oligarchy. It will get worse.

    Signed: A former Cold Warrior.

  6. USAID helped supply Starlink terminals to Ukraine, but Musk later restricted their use, allegedly affecting Ukrainian military operations. This may overlap with the Senate Armed Services Committee’s investigation of SpaceX’s influence over national security decisions.

This was filed last May: [https://oig.usaid.gov/node/6814](https://oig.usaid.gov/node/6814)

  7. Between this, the want to downsize CIA, the FBI, etc., russia is very happy. This will benefit republicans because I’m sure it will make election interference easier resulting in them winning. All the chaos occurring, this so far has been a wetdream for russia.

Many people are rolling in their graves. Literal US citizens have died at the hands of russia and republicans are fine with conceiting defeat, pitiful.

  8. Enemy of the United States (and the world, honestly) and terrorist organization praises destruction of American institution that facilitates soft power. Every isolationist action the US takes makes Putin shoot another rope of cum down DJT’s throat.

  9. Because the USAID was giving support to Ukraine. And USAID was also investing Elon. 2 reasons for Trump to go after it. He did it for daddy. Edit- “investigating”. Thank you

  10. Just about everything Musk/Trump does aligns with Putin’s wet dreams for some reason.

  11. You know you fucked up, when russia likes what you do.

  12. Rare true statement from the Russian Federation

It was meant to stem the influence of Soviet Influence through kindness.

Like Thailand does helping their citizens and ex pats establish Thai restaurants in the US.

    Now I want Thai food.

  13. Goodbye America, the right to bear arms never really came to any use.

  14. Surely there has to be a point where the USA asks itself “Why does one of our main adversaries keep cheering on our Presidents decisions?”.

  15. Wasn’t that point of USAID? Influencing countries with charity? Seems short sighted to me, but that’s on par with Trump.

  16. It took like 40 years but the Soviets finally get to see the dismantling of American influence

  17. Good job, MAGA 👏 you got your wish. You said you would rather be russian that vote for a dem.

  18. The idiots and media companies took the bait. Russia’s misinformation campaign has been at it for years. They planned this all out, I’m sure. And now they’ve gotten what they wanted, at least for the next two years,if not longer.

  19. It’s moronic, but if you are going to shut something down at least have the decency to unwind it in an orderly fashion. There are people who were in the middle of clinical trials.

  20. Yeah how dare they interfere by doing terrible things like treat HIV!

  21. If your ideological enemy is happy that your government’s department has been abolished, you’re doing something wrong, US.

Conservatives, are you guys for real? Look at this, this is pathetic.

  22. More than half the reason for providing aid is to influence local politics and policies. Taking an insular view will allow other states to fill the void.
