2. If he has actually used those words that is cringe beyond belief.

3. Energy abundance let’s go. Leave the luddites in the muddites.

4. The International Atomic Energy Agency actually recommends the use of fully grown adults in the construction of any new nuclear facilities.

5. Come on UK building industry pull your fingers out your arse and do this one on time in budget 

6. Now get enough SQEP people to actually build, run, and maintain them, that’s going to be the real challenge. We have a massive shortage of engineers in this country, and that’s before you get to niches like nuclear skills and welding engineers.

9. I don’t really care if the word choice is cringy. Completely agree with the sentiment and promise. Now actually make some progress by the next GE.

10. This is honestly MASSIVE news. Easily the most exciting and impactful thing to come out of Starmer’s government yet.

    But this thread will be lucky to get even 1/10th the engagement as one of todays 5 “Immigrants bad!” threads.

11. Nuclear energy is the cleanest energy for climate change, I think this is a good thing, it should make energy here cheaper etc but alas we all know politicians f*ck up everything…but its still positive news I suppose.

13. Do opponents of nuclear not realise that the only realistic alternative is burning more fossil fuels?
