Damn I didn’t think it’d be withdrawn already, thought it was a bit later on. Pretty good route, my dad used to drive this one sometimes on his overtime days
Can’t say I’ll be sad to see this go. Always hated that blue lighting. Reminded me of the old cinema I used to go to that installed them in the bathroom so people would stop shooting up in there.
That felt quick! Didn’t seem long since the initial consultation?!
At 01:25 on 1 February 2025, I joined about a dozen other bus enthusiasts and boarded the last Transport for London (TfL) London Buses route 118 [1] bus from Brixton to Morden. The bus operating the final departure was E146, registration number SN60 BZU, an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 double-decker bus with Go-Ahead London General. Despite the bus running late, the journey went well. During the trip, bus enthusiasts discussed other route changes and the cuts TfL has made to the bus network over several years. When the bus arrived at Morden station, we said our final farewells to the 118 and waved goodbye as the bus returned to the depot.
The 118 operated between Brixton and Morden via Streatham and Mitcham from 03:55 until 02:03, Monday to Sunday, with a peak vehicle requirement of 13 from Go-Ahead London General. TfL withdrew the 118, with the official last day being 31 January 2025, replacing it by extending the 45 to Morden [2]. The 45 follows the same roads that the 118 ran along. The 45 was also cut back from Elephant & Castle to Camberwell Green. As the 45 no longer terminates at Clapham Park, the 59 was re-routed to terminate there instead.
I took a video of the final bus journey [3], the penultimate journey from Morden to Brixton [4], as well as journeys earlier that day [5][6][7][8].
TfL: We promise that it won’t effect any services and the new 45 route will always go the whole way
Meanwhile, two 45 buses one after another terminated in Mitcham last night instead of going the whole way to Morden. It’s not even been a week 😐
How does one get from Streatham Common to Mitcham or Morden now?
Train from Streatham to Eastfields?
No way
Had only just recently moved here from Texas. Fairwell 118! Parting is such sweet sorrow…
Welcome to Brixton
Dave (the rapper) is going to have to update his bar “I cut through Bricks like the 118”
Honest question: what’s the point of the handrails on the top front of the new buses? Been trying to figure them out ever since I saw them…
I will the 118 bus 🙁 my childhood taking that bus a lot. I will miss it
🥰
In other news…TFL announces streamlining by eliminating all bus routes except one. Ride cost will be £18,000 per passengers with no actual destination.
Immortalised by Dave. Just need to get rid of Streatham now
Sooo many hours spent on the 118 from/to home. *military salute*

I always flag that bus down when I don’t know which number to call. 😂
Wait… they got rid of 118?
