Concrete over the windows and doors so people can’t get access and leave it as a monument to the people that died and survived that day and also as a monument to what cutting “red tape” and austerity can lead too.
Make government ministers visit the site every year.
Demolish it.
No point in keeping a crumbling building safe. It’s not like it is an architectural masterpiece.
They can dismantle it once justice is served. Until then, it serves as a reminder for corruption.
Imagine if New York had kept the Towers up in cladding until 2008…
Absurd it’s been allowed to stay up beyond the the conclusion of the reports.
Eyesore anyway. Demolish it and build some nice luxury detached houses.
Grief is powerful but so is common sense.
Just imagine the difference of opinions, help and rescue would be involved if this in a nicer part of London. Everyone knows it would be a completely different outcome.
Soooo, somebody who didn’t live there, or lost anybody who did live there, is being asked his opinion?
Riiiiight
Many folk were burned to dust in there and there was nothing for their families to bury.
The tower is their gravestone.
I have no issue with knocking it down, it’s what they use the land for that worries me. It should be made into social housing but I have a strong feeling it’ll be sold off to investors to create luxury flats no one in the area can afford!
Knock it down, build a monument to it on the site
We the “little people” need to understand that when “they” (the people who know best what’s good for us) say something must be done, we get no say in it. The fact that a few “we” think something matters must be overridden for what “they” say matters more.
By all means have a memorial onsite, but keeping a half wrecked tower standing as a monument would cost a fortune, it’s daft to suggest leaving it as it is
It’s a shame people died but life moves on. It’s an eyesore and should have been demolished years ago
It’s a bit much as a tombstone, you don’t leave a crashed car there if it kills 4 people. You don’t leave the blown up tube train on the track following 7/7. You don’t leave any other burned down building standing once investigations have taken place.
The building has to come down, imagine if it collapsed and killed more people.
What replaces it is up to debate, and it’s a really tricky one. Given the deadly cladding was put up to make it more slightly it feels kind of wrong to convert it to a park or similar since that accomplished the same thing, equally, rebuilding a tall tower feels a little tone deaf too.
It needs to be demolished asap, build a memorial and better housing in its place.
The building is an eye-sore. Get it knocked down.
I cannot believe some people expect us to leave a crumbling shitty building
