You don’t have to ban things like paper straws and DEI hiring policies. These things aren’t driven by short-sighted greed but by people trying to be decent and do the right thing. That’s not particularly profitable, so simply not mandating measures like this is enough to minimize them. Generally speaking, companies will do exactly what they think will make the most money.
So obviously, this has nothing to do with anything but culture war distraction while Elon Musk dismantles our government and robs us all blind.
