Because teslas charging program is the only one that’s close to built out so now all the universal chargers go bye bye and Tesla has yet another cooked in advantage. Welfare company is so pathetic. Glad their sales are crashing and burning like their cars.
That’s me for trump apologists to appear.
Unless even they’ve figured out how shortsighted this is.
Georgia and Michigan alone just lost sooooooo much money and jobs from this. Ya get what ya vote for hahahaha
Is this the program that built a whopping 8 stations so far?
Congress already appropriated the funding. I see another lawsuit at least temporarily stopping this. Congress to adopt this? Not likely.
I suggest if you by an EV for whatever reason you choose you also set up a home charger and be the prisoner to your local area. Why should the government pay for chargers. The ones I see are installed by the service station. Stop relying on the government for everything
And Leon Musk is okay with this??
Cost to charge an EV in Canada for a year $500. Cost to fill a car with gas $2,500. What is better for the economy looking only at the numbers?
The economics of owning chargers is a real loser. They need to be used at least 8 hours a day just to break even on operating costs. In my area, these are rarely used. There is a huge meter charge just to have the power company run infrastructure capable of using the full output of the charger. The financial statements I have reviewed of a local charging company is terrible and they are losing million per month. There was a pilot program I know of that was installed to determine scalability and potential profitability. The charger is paying about $20k per month meter charge plus usage. It’s not used nearly enough to recover the meter charge. No chance it would be economical viable until used 8 hours per day 365 days per year. It would need to be used about 12 hours per day to recover the capex investment plus operating cost. You wouldn’t be profitable until it’s used over 12 hours per day. I wouldn’t own one in my area if someone gave it to me.
Directly against president musks main revenue stream. Lol is there trouble in paradise
There will be a carve out for Teslas
I know it was very inefficient, but the question is how will the private sector pick up the pieces.
Cost to build a gas station can be $2m. How about trucking tankers to refill over and over? Cost to replace leaking underground tanks? Costs of contamination and remediation? Cost of maintenance and staff? Etc? Compare that to electricity flowing to a charging station.
I hope all the Trump voters affected by the orange thing’s bullshit stocked up on liberal tears to sustain them through the tough times ahead.
Booo.. i actually wanted expansion of the mational charging network. But well cant win them all
I heard Trumps policies will help Musk, how does this help him?
