Iceland begins its search for a Eurovision 2025 star this weekend, with the return of Söngvakeppnin.
Following the unveiling of this year’s competing songs in January, we asked you to vote for your favourites from the 10 competitors.
You let your voices be heard, casting just over 1,000 votes in total. And now, it’s time to reveal the results…
VÆB and Brigo are favourites to win Söngvakeppnin 2025
This poll turned into a two-horse race. But the act that just sneaked ahead and took the gold medal was VÆB.
The rap duo finished fourth in the grand final of Söngvakeppnin 2024. They’re now back to try and go all the way, and it seems that many are rooting for them to do just that.
VÆB’s upbeat folk-rap track, “RÓÁ,” picked up just under a third of all the votes cast — that equates to 328 votes specifically.
Only 20 votes behind in second place is Birgo. She earned 30.74% of the total for “Stormchaser.”
These results suggest it could turn into a nail-biting selection. Birgo could well blow VÆB away if all the elements come together.
