  1. Oh yes, this is fine. No problems here! Not. Worried. At all.

  2. The National Archives is what got him in trouble with him and all the top secret boxes he had in Mara Lago. This is retribution.

  3. Records? What records?

I don’t see any records around here.

  4. In addition to being a political nerd, I’m a genealogy nerd. Access to the National Archives provides a critical link to our past, as they hold records such as the Census and naturalization documents. If that access disappears, it’ll be exponentially harder for Americans to figure out where they came from.

Idk. Perhaps that’s part of the point. This shit is fucking scary.

  5. I thought nazis were meticulous at keeping records?

  6. When information itself is the enemy, you have a dictator.

  7. Time to ship everything off to a Mar-a-Lago bathroom, the way the founders intended.

  8. Do we have a way to track any new bulk purchases of paper shedders? Something tells me that they are going to be running day and night at the government archives.

  9. Archives are very important. He’s such a dangerous imbecile.

  10. This is so they can memory-hole what they don’t like. Including Jan. 6 and anything that mentions anything unfavourable to Trump.

This is extremely serious. As I’ve been saying for a few days now, I fear that the Librarian of Congress and the LOC itself are in peril.

  11. Who needs an archive when we have a big beautiful bathroom in Mar-a-Lago to store these documents.

  12. What is happening here? What the fuck is going on and how are we going to stop it?

  13. Next Executive order: National Archives are being relocated to Palm Beach, FL

  14. Fucker will have an original copy of the Constitution hanging in Mar-a-Lardass with markups in Sharpie and a sticker pointing to it saying “I undid that!”

  15. Gotta give him credit, we’re learning how the government works. Or me woops

  16. Firing the archivist? Seems like someone’s really keen on rewriting history. What’s next, burning the records? 🤔

  17. Stand up for the archives!! They are a pillar of our democracy. If they fall, we all fall! If they try to take the archives down, let your voices be heard!!!

  18. Is this at all legal? Many of the firings so far have not been.
The US now has a DOJ commitment to the death penalty that would put Iran to shame, and what is worryingly shaping up to be a historical records policy to rival ISIL 🙁

  19. Must’ve been the one who pointed out his bathroom stash of classified docs.

  20. Straight up gonna re-write some shit. We’re looking at 1984.

  21. What trump has been previously doing is bad very bad.

What he is currently doing especially when you look back at history tells me this is very very bad and that an absolute shit storm is coming and it will make his COVID 19 response and what happened on January 6th are going to look minor compared to what’s going to happen next a few weeks from now.

Canada and the UK, Europe are all coming closer diplomatically and attempting to establish closer trade because they see trump’s tariff nonsense as making him an loose cannon. It’s very much like when the adults give the appearance of appeasing an angry teenager while the teenager is distracted, the adults talk to try to contain the situation and stage an intervention to minimise the effects of the teenager.

  22. Month 7 of Emperor Trump’s Reign – Trump fires Senate. They weren’t doing enough says Trump. Impeachment vote goes nowhere as there is nobody who can vote on it.

Year 2 of Emperor Trump’s Reign – Trump revokes all licenses on all news agencies. Trump claims they divide people. All news is now through government only.

  23. “The Records Department in Nineteen Eighty-Four by George Orwell is a division of the Ministry of Truth that rewrites history to align with the Party’s version of events. The department’s purpose is to ensure that the Party’s predictions are true and to keep the public in line.”

  24. With his intent to control The Kennedy Center and now the National Archives, it appears he (and/or his handlers) intend to destroy and rewrite our culture and history as a nation.

“Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.”

  25. I’m officially becoming an amateur historian.

  26. lol.  We’re so fucked.  I feel like the musicians on the titanic.

  27. Did the same thing ladt time to 2 whitehouse employees who oversaw records…

  28. Fuck Donald Trump. Dr. Shogan is a goddamn saint of a human.

Fuck you Donald Trump. You are going to really regret this

  29. If a sane person wins in 2028, they’re going to spend their entire first time fixing the shit this idiot broke.

  30. Oh yeah, let’s get rid of the people keeping records.
    Nothing to fucking see here.,
And I’m told I’m “alarmist” for saying we’re identical to Italy or germany in the 30s/40s…..Fuck these people, if my door gets kicked in…well I die I guess, but I’ll be miffed about it…I guess…

  31. He’s going to fire everyone he can possibly even pretend he is able to fire and then either eliminate the positions entirely or replace them with people who obey him. Taking revenge against the National Archives is just weird. JD Vance kinda weird.

  32. Overthrowing the government from within. He is transitioning to a Authoritarian regime

  33. Trump hated the Archives during his last term. Everything he wrote and signed was supposed to be copied and put in the archives. There were debates on whether they should archive his tweets. He hated them so much he would tear up things he had written down and throw them away before they could be archived.

It’s the behavior of a compulsive liar. In the moment he believes everything he says is true, and he thinks it’s tremendously unfair when people bring up contradictory things he said in the past, or things he says to different people. It’s a fundamental disconnect from the concept of truth. He doesn’t even think of it as lying, he thinks of it as “saying what I need to say to get the outcome I want.” That’s how truth is defined in the mind of a compulsive liar.
