Why is no one calling it a coup?

  1. Because it’s not! From a definitional point of view we may disagree with them but Trump was definitely democratically elected!!!

  2. People think that if we all agree this isn’t a coup but a really inept president things will be normal again soon. And honestly they’re probably right.

  3. Because it’s so far reaching. All branches are involved, and the entire government is infiltrated.

  4. The vast majority of U.S. media are complicit and don’t ask hard questions or even care about the truth—they just interview both sides, present a false dichotomy, and move on.

  5. Who do you think is responsible for making such a big chunk of the American people dumb and hateful enough to support anything or anyone from the far right ?

  6. Brother, I have some bad news for you about who owns these media conglomerates.

  7. We are the frog slowly simmering in the pot. We’ll be cooked before we know it.

  8. Look at who owns the media companies. Rich people are who is performing all of this

  9. Because they own the major media outlets, all of our major media outlets are owned by six companies which are probably owned by two

  10. Bc it’s not a coup. It’s a purge of the system. Coup would be like if Trump got the army to back him in a play to take over the government. This is him just straight up purging the system and solidifying his grip on the us government. Honestly I rather take this over a Trump coup. We can push back, and there is a chance the courts can stop this madness. Coups can get ugly and trigger a civil war like the one in Burma. He would have also failed he if he tried to coup here. The country is too large, and the various nodes (media, security forces like cops, power/internet) are to spread out. Obviously, the legacy media is failing to highlight the danger we are currently in.

  11. The media is beholden to the same capital class that Trump is. They aren’t going to go against what will make them more money and this coup is going to make them rich

  12. 2025 writer frames it as “Second American Revolution” which is both all rhetoric and an admission

  13. This gif is perfect for the title! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

  14. Because for once, it’s not a coup, 77 million idiots voted for it and now we’re all fucked
