With Putin having so much contempt for ceasefires, it is both dangerous to stay and to try and leave. With no diplomatic corridors seemingly available, it is going to be even harder to get across the border as more people flee, yet sending official help to retrieve citizens will be seen as an act of aggression by Putin. It just shows how fucked the situation really is.
