Denmark will play Sweden this weekend with a qualifying berth at Milano Cortina 2026 on offer for the winner.

Denmark came from behind to beat Norway 3-1 in their second Group H match in the Women’s Ice Hockey Final Olympic Qualification event on Friday, 7 February.

The Norwegians, looking to bounce back after a disappointing 3-0 loss to hosts Sweden a day earlier, started brightly at the Monitor ERP Arena in Gävle.

With the teams receiving a penalty each in the first two periods, Andrea Dalen eventually made a breakthrough for Norway with a goal on 27 minutes.

That joy was shortlived, however, with Lilli Friis-Hansen equalising for the Danes just four minutes later.

Building on that momentum, Amalie Andersen scored at the start of the third period to put Denmark ahead, before Nikita Bergmann’s goal on 59 minutes effectively ended the contest at 3-1.

The result saw Denmark maintain their perfect start in Group H.

They’re level on points with hosts Sweden who thrashed the Netherlands 8-0 to remain top of the standings**.**

The Swedish side have still yet to concede during the tournament. They scored twice in the first period, with two-time Winter Olympian Sara Hjalmarsson netting both, and added another four goals in the second (Thea Johansson, Sofie Lundin, Ida Karlsson, Paula Bergstrom). Sweden rounded off the win with two more goals in the third (Josefin Bouveng, Hilda Svensson).

Denmark and Sweden will face off in their final group game on Sunday (9 February). The winner will secure a berth to Milano Cortina 2026.
