French filmmaker Ruggia found guilty of assaulting actress Adèle Haenel • FRANCE 24 English

A French court on Monday found film director Christophe Ruggia guilty of sexually assaulting actress Adéle Haenel when she was a child in what is seen as a landmark #MeToo trial in for the French cinema industry. Ruggia, who has denied any wrongdoing, was sentenced to two years under house arrest with an electronic bracelet plus a two-year suspended sentence.

  1. Our inability to face or believe unpleasant truths is exactly why victims don't speak out because it's blame and shame all over again and exactly why this type od abuse is prevalent and ongoing. It will never end or get better because we cannot face it, as proof by some of these comments. Very sad.

May every victim of abuse get the strength to speak up and face their abusers with courage and may they get the justice that they deserve and a support system to uplift them ….If you are reading this and have been a victim i wish you innerpeace and healing ..love yourself and know that you didn't deserve to go through that❤ don't let anyone gaslight you into thinking that it was your fault…and to all those abusive predators out there shame on you!!
