  1. > Diaz remarked in a new interview with the SkipIntro podcast that she has noticed seismic changes in the industry upon her return to acting – namely the environment cultivated on movie sets.

    > “The industry is so different,” she said. “I mean, I definitely have to say that MeToo changed everything.”

    > Diaz remarked that pre-MeToo, she found that there was always that “one guy” on film production sets who would make women feel uncomfortable.

    > “You walk on to the set and it is different. There was always just like that one guy, you know, on set, that you were like, ‘God, here he comes again.’”

    > “There were always layers and layers of inappropriateness that you just kind of had to put up with.”

  2. EVERYWHERE has that one guy. I am retired military, I have worked fast food, I have worked retail, I have done contract work, I had a civil service job etc…there is always one dude.

  3. Hell, I still remember when someone tried to kiss her on stage while receiving an award back in the early 2000s I believe. Forgot the award show but I’m sure it’d be easy to find in YouTube.

  4. Is it the dishwasher at my new job who whispers at only me to talk?!?!!?

  5. There is always ‘that one guy’ in every workplace.

  6. Hell, most prisons have ‘ that one guy ‘ who was inappropriate

  7. Movie sets, schools, jobs, public transportation, friend groups. There is always at least one creepy guy making it weird and uncomfortable, thinking he’s flirting and he’s being charming, meanwhile he oozes creepiness and is always staring at your breasts.

  8. “That one guy.”

I get what she’s saying, but Something tells me it was way more than one.

  9. She’s worked with the Farrelly brothers and one of them has a rep for taking his penis out of his pants for no reason

  10. Feel like everyone saying that this “one guy” exists in every occupation everywhere is missing the point. She’s saying the industry has changed for the better and that’s pretty cool to hear, especially coming from a legacy actor like Diaz. My job indeed has *at least* that one guy still.

  11. As if it was just one. On a lot of these sets it was the standard culture. And I’m sure the problem is diminished but not eradicated.

  12. Only one? Those guys are everywhere in every space ruining everything while thinking they are the life of the party

  13. I used to be a line cook, and the guys I worked with would see me have good flirty interactions with coworkers and try to mimic me. The difference was I knew it was mutual, I was close to their age, and we had gotten to know each other outside of just flirting. Nor were these guys subtle or witty. They were just a shotgun blast of sexual innuendo, hoping to hit something.

And anybody who was new, there was always a fresh meat mentality you’d see in these guys.

  14. This probably goes without saying but sometimes that one guy is a girl

  15. And he’s now on steroids in the second era of Trump

  16. I know this is a really long shot, but if anyone reading this post works for me, let me know who ‘that guy’ is. Im not aware of one at our office, but if there is one I want to know it. Even if you think I am that guy, I want to know. I don’t think I am, but if I’m wrong I sure hope someone tells me.

  17. Every Reddit thread has that guy. Mostly. Not always. But often.

  18. There still is ‘that one guy’ they are a little more hidden due to awareness but they eventually always get outed.

  19. That one guy didn’t even make it 2 weeks. He was weird, we knew, he knew so he left.

  20. Yeah…. I do not need some coworker constantly telling me he’d ‘hit that’ or how ‘hot’ he found someone. What kind of brain affliction is that?
