Princess Charlotte has often been compared to Queen Elizabeth for being wise beyond her years and her uncanny ability to mimic others. But it might just be her late grandmother Princess Diana who the young royal takes after the most—at least, when it comes to her mannerisms.
In a new TikTok that has gone viral with more than two million views, a royal fan pointed out a striking similarity that Charlotte and Diana both share. The video starts off with a 1981 photo of the former Princess of Wales posing alongside Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth. Wearing a navy sailor dress with a white collar and a red bow at the neck, Diana stands in a ballet-style stance with her feet crossed in front and pointed to the side.

The clip then flashes to a picture of Charlotte at this year’s Together at Christmas concert standing in a nearly identical position. She was also spotted in the same cross-legged pose while attending church service on Christmas Day 2024 alongside her family outside the steps of St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.

In addition to sharing nearly identical standing poses, Charlotte also inherited Diana’s exaggerated facial expressions—including her famous Spencer stare.
The two also share a love for dance. According to The Sun, Princess Charlotte takes “weekly private ballet lessons at a dance school in south London,” while Diana reportedly turned to the hobby for a sense of freedom within the royal family.

In the book, Dancing with Diana, ballet instructor Anne Allan recounts her time as Diana’s dance teacher, revealing that the pair met for secret weekly lessons shortly after the princess’s wedding to Prince Charles in 1981. Allan’s lessons soon helped Diana find the physical and emotional confidence she had bee missing, leading her to plot a surprise performance to Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl” at the London Opera House for her husband’s 37th birthday.
