Getting proper Trump tantrum vibes from this dude.
Scot Morrison has been lieing about a lot of things and of France wasn’t left leaning then Macron too would be in Rupert Murdochs pocket and he would’n be able to blame the kettle that is Morrison.
Despite the title, the most interesting part of the article is not about the Australian Prime minister lying to Macron but about what Australia will get to replace the French deal: a report in 18 months! Let’s hope Australia will not need any submarine at all in the next 20 years…
BREAKING NEWS!
a politician accuses another politician of lying.
Wow im super surprised

So does this imply that Macron doesn’t exist? If he doesn’t think then surely he can also not be?
There is more article on Macron on this sub than on r/France.
How weird.
I feel like every time he farts, Reuter and The Guardian make an article out of it
Scott might actually be low enough IQ he literally forgot.
Biden definitely told Macron that Morrison told him that he told the French about AUKUS
Macron sure knows how to whine and bleat. It’s cringeworthy.
If he’s not crying to the press about losing a contract, he’s threatening to cut electricity to small islands. What a nob.
Oh good, more distraction from the climate talks.
Let’s face it Australia had to pick China or the USA.
The French have the luxury of NATO and US commitment to Europe to pretend they have strategic sovereignty.
Macron is God then.
Initially the contract involved more manufacturing in Australia and as the contract evolved, with the initial French negotiating team being replaced, the French clawed back more and more of that manufacturing. It just stopped making sense for Australia. French are not being honest about this – and also behaving like little bitches but nothing new here
> Australian defence officials […] said they were undertaking “contingency planning”
It shouldn’t have come as a shock to anyone who was paying attention.
France taking on two allies at the same time. Is this like a popular thing in france for him to do or something?
Oh my god, can the French have their election already so he can stop pretending to be so upset about a military contract that has a literal exit clause?
>Some Australian officials familiar with the June dinner conversation said Macron at one point told Morrison “I don’t like losing” — a comment the Australians interpreted as a sign the French knew then that they were at serious risk of losing the submarine deal.

The French-Australian submarine contract had been in trouble for a while. See, for example, [this article](https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/australia-refit-ageing-submarines-doubts-over-new-french-fleet-grow-australian-2021-06-11/), from months before the AUKUS announcement:
> doubts over new French fleet grow
> Australian defence officials […] said they were undertaking “contingency planning”
It shouldn’t have come as a shock to anyone who was paying attention.
