It's unfortunate, but the reality is so stupid it makes it impossible to differentiate from satire.

I worry that real posts will be dismissed as satire and that can be very detrimental.

This kinda stuff does, to some measurable extent, qualify as that “fake news” that conservatives are always railing about, and it’s why they can at least *somewhat* legitimately say that reddit is a hotbed of “liberal” bullshit. I’m not saying they don’t have their own fake news or anything, and I don’t entirely agree with them but they’re also not 100% wrong either.

  3. I don’t dare to spread some of the shit he writes that I find on reddit because I can’t be sure if it’s real or not, and it takes too much time to look up everything.

  5. Agreed, 100%. Some of these posts are realistic enough, and Trump is moronic enough, that it can be hard to tell fact from fiction. I don’t need to waste time getting upset/irritated/scared only to realize I’m looking at a PoliticalHumor post.

    Plus, let’s be honest. They’d be funny if they’re absurd. But we’ve had SO many absurd Executive Orders and other directives come out (like how they removed the “T” from the “LGBT”) that these sorts of fake posts just aren’t funny anymore.

  6. I would say that it should at least be clearly labeled as parody either in the title or the image itself. It’s not uncommon for these fake tweets to be completely plausible these days.

  7. Yeah please no more fake Twitter/Twitter like posts, at least not without a disclaimer. It does nothing but create an atmosphere of doubt when he already says and does so much that’s off the wall and hard to believe.

  10. Weirdly enough this one actually made me laugh because it finally was so absurd I just couldn’t even imagine Trump saying it. Right now I am with you though these types of jokes tend to just be misleading and wrong at worst and aggravating at best

    That said, maybe there could be a satire ‘disclaimer’ to avoid people taking fake posts seriously.

    And I would vote in favor of only allowing actual real posts.

    Because reality is too fucking stupid and awful, and “OMFG I have to go look up to see if that asshat actually said this” was my least favorite game of the first go round. The less I have to play it this time, the better.

  14. I think a disclaimer of satire would be appropriate, it’s gotten so hard to tell fact from fiction lately that while happy to laugh at idiocracy, the lines are so blurred I’d like to know fact from fiction because we’re living in a world of “you can’t make this shit up!”

  37. Pay closer attention to the small details. Verbage here is way off along with the use of caps. Also Drumpf is a serial comma splicer. What is a comma splice? A grammatical error involving the improper use of commas. The best example is like this: I like Ivanka, but I like Elon more.
