  1. Great to see that such a pioneering Scottish institution will live on in the diaspora.

    >“We’re not just in the **middle of nowhere** in Scotland.

    *seethes in glaswegian*

  2. Ban the Jewish Chronicle, on par or worse than the sun or mail.

  3. Who would have thought a queer, Yiddish, anti-capitalist, kosher café offering free drinks wouldn’t be a sustainable business?

  4. Interesting they left out the bit where they shat through someone’s letterbox.

  5. The “outlaw poverty” sign is hilarious.

You could have contributed to ending poverty by running a normal entrepreneurial capitalist business.

You’d still have staff earning an income.

You’d still be paying all sorts of taxes to contribute to society.

Instead you lost all that in the pursuit of loudly *looking* like you were ending poverty.

The story of the leftwing millennial. More concerned with looking like they’re solving the problem than actually solving the problem.

  6. The whole thing sounds like a troll, but moving to New York as an anti-capitalist is especially funny.

  7. > It blamed “burnout” of staff due to alleged antisemitism and “capitalism” for the cafe’s failure in Scotland.

Thank goodness they won’t have to deal with any of that nasty capitalism in New York.

  8. Poor Brooklyn, what have they done to deserve this?

  9. Oh well. The Anarcho-Circus Must Go On.

I just enjoy how people act like this is the *sole* example of G42 becoming a bad re-make of Portlandia.

  10. I’m sure they just randomly chose to move to New York and the owner/manager didn’t have any pre-existing connection with NYC…..

  11. > Yiddish Cafe

Probably were the only 2 Yiddish speakers in Scotland (Yiddish is *not* Hebrew). Their potential customer bases may have been somewhat limited.

    >The middle of nowhere in Scotland

Glasgow – that well-known remote, wilderness area only inhabited by Wolves, Bears and Lynx.

  12. To be fair, the cafe was a success in that it played out its Communist anarchy-Marxist lifecycle out perfectly.

  13. Its a pity, really. I think we need more places like the Pink Peacock was aspiring to be, just without the mean feckless anarcho-commie-cosplaying cunts running it.

  14. When you’re anti so many things you’ll be faced with those who are pro those things

I have an endless list of issues with Zionism & how Jews are going through a period of attack because they are all seen as ‘Israel, Mossad, Bibi & Zionists’

These cunts are unbearable to me never mind someone with a different opinion that’s further away than me

  15. Of course the JC found a way to make this story about them

  16. i’d imagine the residents of govanhill would rather have a pizzeria than this shit

  17. They are both cows of the highest order. And I’ve met Private school kids.
