  1. How long will it take for people to realize that deportation is no different to disappearing people in this country

  2. Came here as a teen, no mention of a criminal record. Just stopped the poor guy at a gas station on his way to work. I wonder what gave him away…

  3. >“His little girls ask every day ‘Where’s Dad? What time is he coming home?’” his wife, Rosa, who doesn’t want to break her children’s heart by revealing the truth just yet, tells The Independent. “I have to tell them he’s out working.”

The lack of humanity *is* the point.

  4. Well, he must be one of those violent criminals they were going to focus on.

Oh, what? No violent crime? Color me shocked! /s

  5. That’s what Republicans want. Poor people to not be able to live and eventually die.

  6. And so many people are actively cheering this shit on and millions will file into church tomorrow and call themselves Christians

  7. No place to live?

But Trump is offering homes to rich white people from South Africa.

  8. I do have a question. Can someone explain to me how undocumented persons pay taxes and own property and whatnot? How can they both be illegally here without documentation and also able to participate in things like paying taxes I really want to understand how this works

  9. I really hope we can move beyond this sick and disgraceful period in our history.

  10. Deported Jose the plumber. Sure glad he’s off the streets /s

  11. isn’t this what the maga people wanted?

    zero empathy with that crowd.

  12. Ehem *cough cough* “Incase you hadn’t heard me say it before, FUCK DONALD TRUMP AND ELON MUSK” *cough* “Thank you, that’ll be all.”

  13. MAGA is like Dwight from the office “ I’d rather lock up a 1000 innocent people then Let 1 criminal get away”

  14. Why can a group of government officials can just see someone going about their lives on the street, ask them for their papers and then deport them if they can’t come up with any? That doesn’t sound constitutional to me. I thought that there needed to be reasonable cause.

  15. Terrible things are happening outside. At any time of night and day, poor helpless people are being dragged out of their homes.

Families are torn apart: men, women and children are separated. Children come home from school to find their parents have disappeared.

  16. How are they going to make up for the millions paid in taxes from illegals while cutting the taxes for billionaires? Illegal immigrants paid more in taxes than the 1%, and they don’t get any of it back through social security and Medicare like everyone else. Trump has hoodwinked half the population.

  17. heartbreaking, bet this guy is a better American than nearly every one of these fucking MAGATS.

  18. My question is why is the government not going after the companies and businesses who are hiring illegal immigrants and such by numbers. They all seem to have jobs. Jobs that somebody had to forge paperwork for because they’re illegal immigrants. Meaning the companies are committing crimes. If we really cared about this issue which I know they don’t they would be going after the businesses.

  19. Where’s the stories of white immigrants getting randomly stopped?

  20. > tHeY ShOuLd HaVe FoLLoWeD tHe LaW!!

*-people who voted for a dude convicted on 34 felony counts and found civilly liable for sexual abuse and defamation*

  21. If he’s paid taxes into the US and he’s not allowed to stay then he should get that tax money back.

  22. > Restaurants are being raided by ICE teams every day,

To arrest the restaurant owners, right?

  23. All of these idiots, whose ancestors probably invaded this land, then raped, pillaged, and murdered most of the natives, then called themselves legal, saying, “well they came here illegally 🤓☝️” can go die in a car crash. Sorry not sorry.

None of this should matter, but:

They make it fucking impossible to obtain legality on purpose. Undocumented people pay nearly 100 BILLION in taxes every year and can’t pull from benefits. They literally fucking feed our entire country and work slavery wages. Many of them are more of a descendant of this land than you probably fucking are BUT NONE OF THAT SHOULD MATTER WE ARE ALL HUMAN HAVE SOME COMPASSION.

    rant over

  24. The land of the free shirt on the kid is killing me.

  25. Honestly, I think the whole situation is a lot messier than portrayed here.

The US seems to be very dependent on undocumented immigrants. So much so that the law has to be largely ignored. This isn’t a good situation for anyone, except the companies that use this to their advantage.

Undocumented immigrants have essentially no legal protection, minimal rights, and a constant risk of the situation described in the article. The threat of deportation is something that can be used to keep order here

ICE aren’t really the problem here. The law is wrong. The necessity of foreign immigrants should be recognised by law and people like this should be able to stay. I think people are angry at the wrong target.
