Austrian representative, JJ, has commenced filming the music video for his entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel.

The filming of the music video for “Wasted Love” is underway, as revealed by the singer on Instagram. Vienna-based director, Vesely Marek, is also revealed to direct the music video.

Johannes Pietsch, known as JJ, is an opera singer at the Vienna State Opera but will sing a pop song with classical elements. The song was written by former Austrian Eurovision representative TEYA, who wrote and performed “Who The Hell is Edgar?” for the country at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool. As confirmed previously by ORF, “Wasted Love” will be released in early March.

The song was selected from the first songwriting camp held in Austria with the intention of creating songs for the Eurovision Song Contest. Three juries selected the Austrian representative, a 30 member national and international jury of music experts, a 30 member jury of Eurovision fans from 5 OGAE clubs, and the ORF Eurovision editorial team.

This will be Austria’s 58th appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest. Kaleen represented Austria at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with “We Will Rave”. She finished in 24th place, gaining 24 points.
