> A suspect was subsequently apprehended nearby on Manor Place after a garda search. It is understood he was wearing a black balaclava when gardaí caught him.
That’s pretty strange.
That top end of Oxmantown Road is incredibly sketchy – I live near the park and used to walk it with the dog. Lots of balaclava electric motorbike lads pulling wheelies in front of traffic and zipping as close as they can to pedestrians.
I’m glad they have a suspect apprehended.
It would seem I was walking my dog less than a km away at the same time, horrifying. Can’t wait to get out of this place. The Garda headquarters are next door and yet right across the street from the headquarters is one of the worst areas I’ve ever walked through in this city. The guards have so little power they can’t even sweep their own doorstep.
scary news, let’s hope nobody was seriously injured
Kip of a city.
I’m very close and didn’t hear any sirens. Weird. Manor street is open to traffic as well.
Kip of a place despite what Lovin Dublin would have you believe
Country is going down the drain….mass stabbing incidents now aswell
Christ, and the Irish Times have reported it to be a random attack with someone stabbed on their front door. I hope everyone pulls through.
RTE is also reporting the arrest, now.
I said it elsewhere about these balacava scumbags on bikes, thatll itll take someone getting killed for Garda/policticans / Judges to come down on them. Indifference has led to these teens becoming emboldened whilst the rest of society lose their trust in the justice system.
I hope the victims are alright.
Just out of curiosity with high profile incidents like this and the Parnell Street attack what has been done or will be done to make Dublin safer? Like surely news like this gives us a bad rep
I live just off Oxmantown Road. Was walking up to Islandbridge and saw the ambulances and guards speeding the other way. It’s so scary. There’s been a lot of young lads on scramblers and wearing balaclavas for ages but honestly have not seen anything more than that. I hope everyone is alright.
surely they *know* whether or not they were stabbed?
i imagine it’s quite painful and obvious
Can’t wait to be able to move the fuck out of Dublin…
far right already spreading nonsense on twitter, garda are saying its not terror related, wont stop head melters like gavin pepper from going on a mad one
Have you all received this after the incident? Sounds like a scam
The mental health services in this country are appalling. That’s from first hand dealings with them over the years. There are no cracks in the system, they have morphed into giant fissures and no amount of government Bandaids are going to fix it. I’m surprised we don’t have more going postal incidents
Let’s bring in those scrambler ramming laws please
It seems that every 4 corners of town has turned into an absolute unhabitable shithole since covid
Now lads. Is is time to have the chat that we explore potentially doing the same thing El Salvador has done by arresting potential gang members? Because it seems to work. If it means Dublin is safe again I’m sure majority of the population would love this idea.
Apparently a domestic incident. But that didn’t stop the tin hat brigade doing a Sherlock Holmes on it and blaming it on Communism and woke types before there was any evidence.
What do we know about the attacker so far?
Update 17:27
3 hospitalised, non life threatening injuries.
>It is understood the suspect stabbed the victims using regular household implements.
>Sources say gardaí have no reason to suspect the attacks were linked to terrorism.
