Elon doesn’t have an official position so there’s no civil lawsuit immunity

  1. Not funny when you realize that it’s the taxpayer, you, paying for this madness.

  2. There’s going to be a massive class action lawsuit but it’ll be paid for by taxes.

  3. Good luck finding a judge or prosecutor willing to do anything about it.

  4. Yeah sure, if by the end of it we even have any courts.

Probably not, it’s more of the “fat that needs trimming”, a.k.a for MAGAs as *no one can tell me I can’t do this shit or I’m having a tantrum*

  5. LOL, people still thinking we live in a democracy that upholds the law.

  6. “I GAVE ELON TOTAL BEAUTIFUL PERFECT IMMUNITY JUST BY THINKING ABOUT IT!!” -trump

  7. Not just the people he fired. The contracts that I understand he is personally canceling will also come with damages. At the end of the day, the government will try to weasel out of paying the damages because he’s not an authorized officer. Which opens up his own liability to the damages. I hope the people take him to the cleaners for all he is worth and shares he owns. I like to dream that his board of Tesla and Twitter would even finance all these legal actions if they think it would take out his majority shares of those companies.

  8. It’s a wonderful sentiment, but elon has enough money to hold anyone who sues him up in court for so long they will go broke long before they see a penny

  9. Good luck lol to anyone who thinks they can fight the government

  10. Enjoy the fantasy right up until the case comes up before a ~~corrupted~~ conservative judge. Alex Jones was hit with a $billon settlement for making a business of ruining the lives of Sandy Hook survivors and families and it was very encouraging until a judge overturned it last week.

  11. With no actual official position, the man sure has a lot of access to stuff he shouldn’t have access to. But, I guess when you buy a presidency, that’s all moot.

  12. “Congratulations, you have a judgement for damages. Now have fun collecting from the richest guy on earth with the most powerful ally on earth. They’ve been ignoring the Law and proven it pointless, but you got this champ.”

  13. According to Wikipedia:

Musk was given “special government employee” status, a title reserved for advisors to the federal government. It is a temporary position that allows greater access but bypasses some of the disclosure obligations required of full time employees.
The DOGE team reports to Steve Davis, a longtime Musk advisor and CEO of Musk’s The Boring Company, who played a key role in cutting costs at X and SpaceX.

And apparently DOGE takes no “firing” actions on its own, it just advises the President and then, if the President agrees, the President orders the firings. Since the President cannot be charged with any crime while performing his official duties as President, the only remedy is for Congress to impeach him.
