The grenade was the least of his worries. He was already down for the count.
Damn he got like 5 or 6 bullets already in his head (not to mention the other impacts…) before the grenade went off. I dont think he will walk that off.

I suspect he never intended to toss that grenade. Due to his existing recent injuries, it looks like he was going to eat it before the UA spared him of that option. One of the volleys simply dislodged it from his already dead hand.
