I’m slowly building my way to naming at least 96% of the world’s countries. I’ve got Africa, Europe & South America to 100%. It’s those pesky Oceania/Australasia countries that are difficult to remember.
Niger being the highest in the Sahel/Sub-Saharan area… lol
I can NEVER remember which one is Mauritius and which one is Mauritania.
Interesting; a lot of red ones were always easy for me (Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea, Tajikistan). The real hard ones are the chain of Caribbean island states toward SA and Oceania
Surprised Kyrgyzstan isn’t higher.
Surprised there exist people who can’t recognize or remember India or China
I finally got to 100% on that quiz without cheating! My technique is to learn a fact about each country I’m having trouble remembering, so its name has context. So now I know that Kiribati is a transliteration of “Gilbert,” Namibia is where they shot *Mad Max: Fury Road,* Suriname is 90% rainforest…
Pretty close to what I expected. The biggest surprise to me is Niger being so well known. More than Congo and Philippines, same as Ukraine. I guess it’s because what it sounds like and I’m slightly disappointed by that.
