  1. I just don’t get why as an MP you don’t have the forethought to not wish death upon your constituents?

  2. Labour hate the British people. Are you surprised?

Everything Starmer and Labour has done since being in power is to help other countries and nationalites at the expense of the British people.

They don’t really care about us.

  3. Sack them. All MPs should be of the highest integrity and morals

What is wrong with our country, Labour, tories, SNP

  4. MPs shouldn’t be allowed to have encrypted conversations with each other unless they’re archived by a supervisory organisation. If they’re unwilling to allow access then they should be charged with terrorism. The same way that a citizen doesn’t have the right to remain silent when asked for passwords etc at borders.

  5. Pretty sure I heard there’s some conservative leaked conversations to come out in the next few days as well

  6. What always gets to me is that if you work in the civil service, nhs, police or pretty much anywhere in the public sector you are held to exceptionally high standards in terms of conduct and ethics, and rightly so. For a lot of positions you have to be vetted which is partly to check you out for this sort of stuff. Yet the people at the top in charge of whole government departments and representing thousands of constituents seem to have no morals, principals or common sense and wouldn’t survive 5 minutes in another public sector role.

  7. I can’t imagine what the WhatsApp groups in reform look like.

  8. This is a good insight into what the political classes think of us. I thank them tbh. I thought they didn’t give a fuck now I know they don’t.

  9. What’s disgusting is that mere members of the public would have been arrested and put inside had we posted this stuff online!

  10. Horrible people exist all across the political spectrum. They tell you who they are, always. Their bile has to leak out somewhere.

All you can do is listen. And don’t ever trust them again. Ever

  11. This is where our system fails…they will now sit as independents doing nothing for 4 years. If you change party (defect or get the whip removed) then you should face recall as the terms have changed.

  12. Feel sort of sorry for this one tbf. World of difference between being in the group and not challenging it (bad but not as bad) and being in the group and saying the things in the first place. But he’s been thrown under the same bus from the sound of it.

Kudos to the Express, of course, for failing to make any attempt at all to distinguish between sacking and suspension, again.

  13. Well done Labour voters, what a wonderful government you put in power

  14. I’m bored of people trying to defend this as edgy jokes. It was a work based chat group. There should be a by election for both seats immediately

  15. Can’t see all the details, but It looks like Ryan is suspended because he (1) joked about an MP being gay before Ryan (who’s also gay) was elected MP, and (2) didn’t challenge Gwynne’s remarks re: elderly voters, Jewish people.

The context is going to matter here, of course, but from what details we have now it doesn’t exactly seem as bad as Gwynne’s messages.
