The Embassies of Finland and Norway in Bangkok are among the diplomatic missions participating in the 2025 Ambassador for a Day competition in Thailand. This initiative, which selects outstanding young individuals to shadow an ambassador or UN leader, provides participants with firsthand experience in diplomacy and international relations.

The Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok has been actively involved in the program for several years.

“The Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok has been a proud participant in this initiative for several years and we are looking forward to welcoming two of the 37 winners who will work alongside Ambassador Astrid Emilie Helle, for a day,” writes the Norwegian Embassy on its Fabebook page.

The 2025 edition of Ambassador for a Day received over 200 entries, with 37 winners chosen to participate. The program focuses on gender equality, under the theme: “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.” It aims to encourage youth engagement and leadership, fostering greater awareness of global issues and international cooperation.

As part of the initiative, winners will attend a special reception on March 5, 2025, hosted by H.E. Mrs. Millicent Cruz Paredes, Ambassador of the Philippines to Thailand. They will also take part in the Asia-Pacific International Women’s Day regional commemoration on March 6, organized by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and UN Women.

This program is a collaborative effort involving multiple embassies and UN agencies, demonstrating the commitment of Finland, Norway, and other international partners in empowering young leaders and advancing gender equality in Thailand.
