Two servicemen from the warship USS Forrest Sherman that’s been on a visit to Stockholm during the week have been arrested on suspicions of buying sex, according to the newspaper Expressen’s sources.
The arrests took place on Wednesday evening.
The Swedish police does not want to explicitly confirm the arrested persons are from said ship, but they have confirmed two foreign citizens have been arrested on charges of buying sex. According to Expressen the two servicemen have been handed off to Swedish military police.
– Both of them have confessed. They were arrested at an apartment brothel in Östermalm. I have no further details to share with respect to the on-going investigation, says Anna Westerberg, press spokesperson for the Stockholm police.
SVT has tried to reach the American embassy for a comment, with no success.
If Expressen is to be believed, the women that the American servicemen paid to have sex with were from Ukraine.
