  2. I think that’s actually reasonable. I feel like Trump gets a pass for a lot of the crazy shit he says, but he really shouldn’t. Just let it sink in for a moment that he is publicly calling for the annexation of a neighboring country.

    This kind of rhetoric is alarming, and I honestly wouldn’t fault Canada for imposing restrictions on diplomatic ties to the U.S. over this.

    – Recall the Canadian Ambassador back home

    – Summon the US Ambassador

    – Tell him if his boss keeps spewing shit, he can fuck off

    – Tell the US Ambassador to fuck off back home, close the embassy to all activities except consular matters

    – Declare US foreign actors like Elon Musk, *Persona Non Grata*

    This all looks just symbolic, but this is in fact the highest form of diplomatic sanctions – short of a war.

    If Canada did this, it would be a diplomatic earthquake internationally, other western countries will be forced to comment and take sides.

    Let’s see what the world really thinks.

While I agree that threatening the sovereignty of another country is clearly illegal and an act of aggression, and the horrific nature of doing so to America’s closest ally is beyond comprehension…. But removing embassy staff is not the right approach. Behind the scenes are hundreds of diplomats and policy advisers on both sides who are working the system to prevent things from escalating. Removing them would only make things worse.

    That said, if the US were to enforce its proposed economic tariffs without any interest from within the US bureaucracy to work towards removing them – then that’s another story.

    Here’s how Canada could play this… announce that its efforts to “stop illegal drug trafficking across the border” were a “major success”, and give total credit to the fat orange baby… then he would have the “win” he wants and go play with someone else (or, preferably just go away and play with himself… ).

    3- Ban Trump from entry due to felony conviction.

  34. As an American, I feel like Canada should really just close any embassies and refuse any ambassadors. I mean, if someone said to the U.S., “Hey, we’re going to annex your country,” the U.S. would respond with war.
