  1. There is a sad story between every achievements but sadly no one knows it.

Every news channels speak about the wonder of ceylon Tea but no one speaks about the people who working for the country without a proper permanent Sallery.😢

The people will wake up at 5.00 am in the Cold morning and work until 4.00 pm in the Place where snakes, bugs, bees and others animal like cheetah, bear lives.
Husband and wife both of them work in the field, some times childrens also work with them.

The sallery they get for month is 890 in lankan rupeee. Thay have protested against the salary but lankan government didn't take any actions.

Their childrens waks to school nearly 3 or 4 km daily in the unproper roads. They don't have their breakfast cause their parents leave at 5.00 without making a food for them.
their childrens doesn't know that is the palce where their parents were buried.
They facing these kind of problems more than 100 years.

  2. 1) When British arrived in Sri Lanka, the country had over an 80% of a forest cover.

    2) 90% of our hills were forests

    3) British cleared and razed exactly 30% of forest cover leaving just less than 50% of a forest cover when they left at 1948.

    4) 70% of the hills were deforested for TEA, as you call cuppa while close to 4000 highland elephants were killed to make sure the area is free for tea. Bakers was one of the most notorious of all.

    5) Kings back in the day never touched the hills because the 103 rivers of Sri Lanka flows thanks to them

    6) Today after the British left, the heritage of british continue and tea expands to hills and forests including the two UNESCO world heritage sites namely Knucles and Sinharaja.

    7) Tea has killed our country's future, nature, peace, wildlife, biodiversity and are continuing to pose a huge threat to the forests in Sri Lanka.

    8) Its nothing to celebrate. Its all the destruction we see and that is why we have agricultural failure, polluted water including CKDU epidemic, water stress and prolonged droughts and erratic weather patters.

  3. It’s heartwarming to see Sri Lanka’s tea story shared with the world. We humbly welcome everyone to visit our beautiful island, where the warmth of our people and the richness of our culture await you. Come enjoy a cup of tea with us and experience the natural beauty of Sri Lanka firsthand.
