So if I understand the article correctly, curtail loads of data centers under peak loads instead of turning on peaker plants. This will allow for a higher base load and solve some grid instability issues if they were to place them where congestion is an issue. A reverse storage concept if you will.
It’s an interesting concept. I could see it getting some run as the grid and generation grows, but I don’t think it’s a long-term solution to anything.
Isn’t 85 hours more like 1% and not .25%?
I knew it was gonna be Tyler Norris and others at Nicholas. This came up in conversation several places at the State Energy Conference last year.
