Ms. Eismont was interviewed by the TV channel in the hall where the talks had been organised. “Few journalists have been here, we do not work quite often in this room. In fact, the Belarusian headquarters, figuratively speaking, was located here ten years ago, and the hall was the President’s office for two days: the Head of State spent almost all the time here. It was very convenient from the logistical point of view: the room is literally seven metres from the Green Hall where the main negotiations took place,” she said, adding that the President joined all major events there, as needed – doing that, naturally, as correctly as possible: he understood that everything should be organised, and help needed to be provided in all aspects.
“The involvement in all the processes is understandable, so quite hard work did not actually stop at this room, at this desk. From time to time, if there were any important calls to be made, the President, of course, went to his private office, but then came back here again. Indeed, the work was in full swing, and people were all time coming,” Ms. Eismont said. She added that Aleksandr Lukashenko also asked her how the work of more than 500 journalists from around the world was organised.
When asked if the Belarusian leader had really spent all that time awake, the Press Secretary stated, “I will tell you more. The President did not sleep for quite a long time even after the main negotiations ended here, at the Palace of Independence.”
