    Earthquakes are not uncommon in California and vary in magnitude, from quakes so small that no one feels their shaking to natural disasters. When a quake strikes, there’s often a chance that aftershocks will follow.

    Hundreds of people felt shaking from the quakes over the past 24 hours. The temblors struck two months after a magnitude-7.0 earthquake hit offshore in Eureka, California, prompting evacuations amid fears of a tsunami.
