13. I suspect that before this was built, a much older and way more beautiful building was in its place. It was knocked down and this was built as a ‘tribute’ to the old building which may have had a similar ‘Victorian” turret. Terrible shame.

17. Going to be the ackshually guy and point out that it’s a tower, not a turret, because it starts from the ground – a turret is basically a ‘tower-ette’ that sticks out from upper floor(s).

    Blame an excessive interest in medieval castle architecture as a child!

    people always think the highest position would be better, but in actuality, sitting up there skylines you, making you incredibly easy to see

    better to sit in the back of a room facing a window, so you’re borderline impossible to spot
