  1. FPÖ is facing the same problem as the AFD in germany; they basically radicalized too quickly and now their Leaders have absolutely no wiggle room in negotations with even center-right parties, as their Base is so riled up by years long constant anti-establishment populism. Any rightwing politician trying to come off as reasonable in this regard is immediately targeted as “systemling” and there is a long list of ex-FPÖ/AFD politicians who left their parties because of this.

If anything, we should consider ourselves lucky that these guys are so bad at just putting on a suit and cosplaying as reasonable right of center-niceguys, even as a show just to get into power

  2. But Europe is a bastion of great democracy, and has no government issues whatsoever! 🙄 /s

Half the continent has crumbling governments, yet everyone wants to mock the U.S. like it’s in vogue and ignore theif own problems.

  3. Austria in 1932: *Elect a far right coalition who end up destroying democracy and later joins Germany and fights a war which destroys much of Europe.

Austria in 2025: “Durr, let’s do that again!”
