If 5% of the shit that happened in your country in last couple of weeks would happen in Europe, cities would be paralysed with general strikes counting in hundred thousands of people and musk would be very likely… well dead. Yet this FREEDOM AND GUNS loving nation is just whining into clouds, oh what can we do. I’m afraid that you might be loosing your respect in the world rather very quickly. We would be upset and sympathetic about situation, if the world wouldn’t be set in a way that your shit will affect us a bit as well…

  8. So commerce needs to come up with 880 billion. Their comments on Medicaid say they are just focused on work requirements which should save 100 billion. They then talk about fraud. I’m wondering how you find 800 billion in ongoing fraud? They are just lying publicly so they can make actual cuts. They don’t have 218 votes for block grants. They have talked about cutting the expansion % on a glide path.

    I legitimately don’t know how, as a nation, we can really move forward. They are truly just living in a completely different reality than me.

  13. They know this will be unpopular with voters and that their margin to retain power is not that robust… which means they would not do this if they did not also have a plan and intent to tilt future elections in their favor.

    So this change hurting Trump voters might not really matter, those people have potentially served their purpose and are no longer required.

    Last I checked Musk, Gates, Zuck, Bezos and the like are doing fucking terrific growing their fortunes by the tens of billions in the last decade.

    You want cuts? Fine. But you have to raise revenue somehow to balance the growing deficit.

    Preach all you want about welfare queens, but nobody lives beyond their means like the US government.

  19. The only reason the Medicaid cuts are in there is so the Republicans can remove it after the Democrats fight, but leave in the 4T in tax cuts for the rich. If the Democrats don’t fight enough, then they will just leave it in and blame it on the Democrats for not fighting harder.

  22. Medicaid is like 20% of total healthcare spending that hospitals and doctors get. Cutting any significant portion of that is going to cause some major issues for the entire healthcare system. The struggling rural hospitals won’t stand a chance. Healthcare workers are going to worry about layoffs, hospitals will cut capital spending, it will ripple through tons of companies and industries from supplies to food services to equipment.

Trump voters disproportionately benefit from social safety nets as they’re significantly less likely to be well educated, in stable high paying work, and will often spend what money they have frivolously. GOP is literally screwing its own voters over significantly more than it is left leaning individuals.

  39. My SO has cancer. She just told me they likely wouldn’t be covering her costs through Medicare. $1,500/day out of pocket costs. Going to have to look into this when I get home. That’s quite literally a death sentence for her.

Like shit, I’d love to not pay into SS and invest that money myself, but I don’t get that option…so give me my freaking money.

    And if you don’t want to subsidize people’s healthcare then maybe you should pay people a living wage so they don’t need the help. Oh and maybe stop letting drug companies rip off the American people. Maga are a special breed of regards that get hot and heavy at the thought of billionaires making larger bonuses.

    Never forget that Republicans are cutting life saving care to low income, vulnerable populations, children, senior citizens, and people with disabilities so they can line their pockets with more tax cuts for the rich. This is the Republican Party.

  45. So, 5 years ago, a cerebral spinal fluid vein collapsed. Crushing… Everything in my skull and spinal cord. It wasnt good.

    I got put on meds to reduce the production of csf, but that did not work help.

    It took 2 years to find a doctor that would listen to me, that would help me, that fixed the vein in my head.

    Because it took so long I now have permenant nerve damage. My brain doesn’t work right anymore.

    Im on a great big pile of meds that let me get out of bed. I’m learning how to function again. We’re still playing with meds to figure out how to let me leave my house with out triggering a migraine.

    I can’t work. I have pretty bad aphasia. My memory is shit. And I can’t leave my house. I can only sit at a computer for short bursts before i get vertigo. I paint every day, and put together collections to try to sell at craft fairs. Something small to keep me busy and keep me going.

    I’m so much better than I was 2 years ago. And infinitely better than I was two years before that. If I keep working with my various doctors, keep pushing myself, I think I’ll eventually get to a point where I could work. Where I could find something I could do – even if it’s not what I was doing before.

    I paid into social security and Medicaid for years. And now I’m at a point I need it. I need to get my life back together after it fell apart. Medicaid saved my life. And now it needs to get me to a point where I’ll be able to work again, and be able to start paying into the system again.

    If they cut me off now – I won’t be able to get the medications that keep my brain stable. I’ll be trapped in a neverending migraine again. I’ll be back to not being able to get out of bed every day. I’ll be essentially catatonic again. Nonfunctional.

    What’s the point of that.

  46. Good my Magat brother and his idiot wife voted for this and they have an adult autistic son that is on Medicaid and social security disability. They plopped him in a group home at the expense of taxpayers the minute that kid turned 18. I’m sooooo looking forward to them having to support him in every way and take care of him the rest of their miserable lives with no govt assistance. They got govt assistance the entire time he was a kid at home yet somehow “those” people are living off their tax dollars. They don’t even make enough to pay taxes. Screw the whole lot of them all my white patients on Medicaid hate democrats are wholly all the way in for maga and trumpism. I will love watching their worlds come crashing down. Sorry I’m fresh out of empathy at this point and I’ll never have a drop again for these monsters.
