Russia burned $100-400B (5-22% of GDP) on its war. Collapse of Russian economy is underway.
Aid to Ukraine? $100-150B, with top donors giving just ~1% of GDP. Imagine how things would go if Ukraine’s allies contributed 5% of their GDP. Russia would be destroyed in a matter of days.

  1. Losing 4% of your GDP is considered a disaster. People get obsessed with GDP percentages there is a hell of a lot riding on countries hitting their GDP goals such as credit ratings, stocks, bonds, etc. The fact countries are pulling as much as they are in such a small period of time, while not being in the war, is something that hasn’t been seen since the US Lend Lease (which the US was preparing for war simultaneously.)

  2. So European countries donated 101,5 billion compared to 92,7 billion from USA with the multitude in individual European country contributions not even counted.

Guess we have the right to assist 🇺🇦in the negotiations period.

🇺🇦 into 🇪🇺 is the only way now!

  3. The EU managed to find over 800 billion euros for the covid recovery fund. Around a 100 billion euros for an existential war on our doorstep just isn’t good enough.
Fuck Trump and his cronies but it’s time that Europe step up and decide our future for ourselves.

  4. We Danes are like wtf guys… especially USA, now you’re trying to do a Russia on us…

  5. France and Italy take a long hard look in the mirror please

  6. France and Italy who were liberated from an invading fascist army in living memory giving so little to Ukraine is appaling

  7. Wishfull thinking.. The US just pulled out of future aid to Ukraine, and Europe will never be able to match it.

  8. The slower method might actually have been the best method, to prevent escalation to a larger war and giving every excuse to Putin to mobilise the entire country. He is limited while they are only fighting Ukraine in a pointless war of only their choice with zero actual threat to the Russian people. The fact it is only Ukrainian built weapons striking long range targets within Russia is actually very important.

The more I think about this, the more I think Biden/Europe/allies with Ukraine have actually thought this through and it has been the plan from day 1. Russia is on the brink of collapse.

In the other hand……… Has Trump been factored in? There doesn’t appear to be any contingency, Europe has been increasing its own military spending, but not enough as we all know. Let’s pray there is a plan B preventing Trump from bailing Putin out.
