Taken from the Krakow sub but how are the government allowing such an issue to continue for years and years with no action. At this rate nothing is going to change.
I've seen so many discussions about this here, people saying that there is no easy solution etc. I get that. But when push comes to shove, this is only just going to affect us.

  1. Nie ma kasy na emerytury, trzeba wykończyć ludzi rakiem płuc

  2. Revolt? I dont think the people in charge are the ones heating their homes with trash.

  3. It’s honestly terrible. Such a shame when a country with so much positives refuses to acknowledge the serious problems resulting from its air pollution.

  4. They either won’t do anything helpful or get a brilliant idea like ban cars or enforce people to stop using gas heating. They are not here for us. We are here for them. It’s a sad reality in a post-PRL, riddled with corruption and nepotism Priwislinskij kraj.

  5. It’s unnacceptable to you, but the people heating with coal, and driving a 30 year old diesel engine car are happy that they can live a great life in Poland, and will absolutely vote out any government that tires to tackle this seriously.

  6. You know this system is rigged, right?

And that Krakow, due to how it’s placed, is going to have way more pollution than surrounding areas?

And that the same score in Poland and abroad could have two different colours?

And that it matters WHERE you place the reader?

  7. There is no real solution to this problem. Here what I’ve posted in different thread:

    >It was way worse dude, like we got 2-3 weeks of killing smog in February 8-10 years ago.

    >Anyway. Imagine that you are the governor of Malopolska, what are you steps to eliminate smog? I’m really curious.

    >Force people to install electric heating and regulate prices on electricity?

    >Force people to install GAS/LPG heating and subsidize the prices of fuel?

    >Force people to freeze?

    >Force people to migrate to ‘eco’ air friendly solutions, but they won’t be afford to pay the bills, or subsidize it with taxes?

    >Install huge air cleaning towers using public money?

    >Just ban usage of coal and wood in Malopolska and impose huge fines?

    >I’m not trolling I’m curious. For me there is only one solution, but its not fast, that should’ve been made 15-20 years ago, as soon as Poland entered EU. Building nuclear power plants using EU funding. That didnt happen. Now its too late.

Could you try to find a solution yourself? I know its not your job, but still, what would u do?

  8. Its the same thing in bucharest as yall can see, people using wood and coal and trash for fire.

  9. Kraków’s city govt is doing everything to stop pollution, but they can’t force the surrounding areas to do the same. people near Wieliczka, Skawina, Zielonki, Skała, Wadowice and so on keep on using tires and garbage to heat their homes.

and whenever you propose stopping that, it gets blocked. on the level of województwo, PiS has the majority of votes. they deny air pollution being a problem, and actively root for no change in the coal industry.

i really wish this changes soon, but we need to wait at least until the end of the presidential campaign. if Trzaskowski wins (Nawrocki would veto it with a smile on his face, and so would Mentzen), we might start getting wind farms and a shut down of some coal mines. that is, of course, unless the PSL blocks it…

  10. >Mayor is chosen by people

    >People choose the mayor that allows them to still burn their garbage

    >He wins the election because he has support of the people that vote for his party and the people that burn trash

  11. As some who lived in China and now live in Krakow, I genuinely do not believe these numbers.

The air quality here is fine, good even compared to 90% of days in Shanghai or Beijing. When I first moved here I thought everyone was crazy for complaining. I remember one day back in like 2017 that was comparable to China, literally one day.

There’s a slight smell of smog in the surrounding countryside and some places near Katowice etc. but that’s about it.

    You all need to relax.

  12. *’even resort to revolt if necessary.’*

    **Hello OP**

Since you suggest to take some revolt action please answer a question?

Who are   ***we***   in your post title?
I scrolled your account and I see you talked in Belarusian sub about Minsk travels and even on krakow sub you reply to Polish posts in English.

    Please reply in Polish.
    Będę wdzięczny.

  13. I am an American male needing help navigating Warsaw. Staying in old town. Specifically I have chronic back problems so need a yoga mat, a massage place and muscle relaxant pills because I left my f**king bottle in the security tray at London Heathrow. Petrified of taking the long return flights without them. I’m tired of trying to figure everything out online. The hotel clerk told me to get a yoga mat at the mall. I didn’t fly over here to go to a mall. I hate malls. She said I could get painkillers at the drugstore without a doctor visit but I’m skeptical. I’m going out soon to try alone but want to throw this out there for anyone not particularly busy. Thank you in advance

  14. wszyscy protestują przeciwko zielonemu ładowi, a potem narzekają, że w zimie śmierdzi i można raka dostać… co można zrobić jeśli ludzie nie chcą wymieniać kopciuchów?

  15. It just costs to have a clean air. What’s the root of this? It’s really not gov polluting, this is everyone polluting. Old cars, old heating systems, a lot of manufacturing, all taken together in unfavourable location. What do you want politicians to do? Tell people to stop heating their houses or using their cars? Maybe shutdown manufacturing? Buy new cars for everyone or replace heating systems for few milion people?

  16. I don’t think revolt is legal or democratic. I rather have peace.
