Algeria Says It’s The Su-57 Felon’s First Export Customer

The head of Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev, announced that the first foreign customer for the export version of the 5th generation Su-57E fighter will begin operating it this year. The number of aircraft in the batch, as well as the value of the contract, remain unknown.
Algeria is in a situation where the need for more modern fighter aircraft is undeniable, especially when compared to the increasing armament of its neighbor, Morocco.
Morocco is focusing on advanced American technology, such as the F-35, as the country became the first in Africa and the Arab world to possess this exceptional aircraft. Morocco is also modernizing its existing F-16C/D jets, upgrading them to the F-16V version, which features the latest radar and combat management technologies.
Hopefully Algeria is smart enough to not pay in advance of delivery.
