  1. I remember an episode of Scrubs where Dr Cox was trying to get a transplant for a patient who liked but who didn’t obey the rules, and Dr Turk reminded him that as a surgeon the person he cared most about was the person who donated the organ, because it is a gift that deserves respect.

    And now we get to watch JD Vance abuse his power to force this transplant to happen, shitting on the memory of the person who donated it. Hellfire Eternal to him and everyone who helped make him Vice president.

  2. If your religious faith allows you to accept a heart transplant, it allows you to be vaccinated.

    It is a tragedy a child will likely die because their parents are ignorant pieces of 💩. But 🇺🇸 is better off with this line not going on.

    How can this even be considered a case for an exemption when, for example, DACA recipients are still being called illegal/criminals for decisions their parents made?

    How many other patients need transplants, but have been denied because of refusing vaccines?

    I am sure JD will handle it, the fucking prick.

  12. The hospital said she can’t be put on the transplant waiting list without flu and COVID shots. My understanding is that they could still vaccinate her and get on the list. The parents could fix this at any time if they wanted to.

  15. I’m so sorry for the child. The parents are negligent for letting their child risk death for a vaccine. I’m a kidney transplant recipient and compliance to medication and vaccine schedules is not optional. If the organ goes to someone who doesn’t comply, the organ may not last and another child, who is in compliance, may die.

  21. As a liver and kidney transplant, patient there are very strict guidelines for receiving an organ. Why should they be given such a life-saving gift when there is a higher likelihood of rejection due to any number of aliments that could have been easily prevented with a simple vaccine? Another child died to give someone a second chance, do not waste their organ!

    They’ve known forc8 years she was going to need this. In 8 years, they haven’t bothered to educate themselves as to how & why certain steps are necessary for a successful transplant.
    That child should have their own representation who can help her make the best decision for herself.
    How in their ever loving God do they think a transplant is okay with their god but not vaccines. It makes no sense.
