According to multiple sources the boy’s name is Conner Perry, and this happened behind the garages at Barn Mead in Harlow where he lived. His tibia and fibula were shattered and the surrounding soft tissue was crushed beyond repair, and it took over an hour to free him from the five 120kg concrete panels sitting on top of it. He now walks with a pronounced limp where before the incident he was quite a footballer.

Every time I see one of these walls I think of this, watching it back now as an adult, I do feel sorry for him. It’s pretty obvious what would happen but been young and dumb he was probably oblivious to it and the poor kid had a life changing injury. We all probably did dumb stuff but thankfully didn’t almost lose a leg over it, certainly prevented any other kid from doing it after watching it, must have saved a few legs.

I think I was like 9 when the video came out and I actually saw it on my mums phone, but I must say seeing that as a kid has made me stay away from these types of walls all my life and especially now as most of these walls that are still around are unstable
