Sorry, but for that long I think it didn’t actually toast anything, the bread went stale and become hard that way. I would be mad because I bet if you popped it in again it would be charred dust at the end for no good reason.

Yes! We foolishly bought a Cookworks Illuminated 4 Slice Toaster and it barely browns the slices 🤨😩 The only thing in its favour is that it’ll take massive slices of bread.

I have the opposite problem mine will burn the toast at 1 if I do multiple batches for the kids, so I have to stand there watching with my finger over the cancel button.

My morphy richards toaster is utter shite, it comes out either burnt and smoking, or warm bread. The reheat does absolutely nothing, so I put it in again, but then forget about it. Charcoal.
Have you tried the other side?

Every toaster I’ve had does the same after a lot of use. I’ve always bought the double like yours and just switched to the other side once the first side isn’t good enough.

I think my toaster could give that a run for it’s money. I’d have done my research and picked a toaster that gets excellent reviews, but my girlfriend at the time won the argument and bought the one she wanted because “it’s rose-gold and will match the kettle”. Now I’m stuck with it because I’m too tight to replace a working toaster and the fucking thing won’t die. I feel like her leaving me without taking it with her was a cheap shot.
P.S. the rose-gold kettle is also shite.
