If you’re surprised at this point, you’re really not looking up.
Bunch of self-serving bastards. Simple.
Politics is their second job after all.
Our chancellor is too rich to understand the concept of poverty. Either that or he lacks empathy. But it’s probably a bit of both.
Looking we’re getting a rerun of cardboard city after all. That stinks.
Never going to happen until we get these idiots out of power! Boris Johnson wasn’t even voted in he is pm by proxy. These people are supposed to be the brightest in the country but only get their jobs through money or nepotism and clearly have no fucking clue!
The only silver lining I can take from this is that Labour are in with a strong chance of winning the next election and probably by a landslide as well. This is Labour’s ticket to getting into power, much like how conservatives grabbed the 2008 recession as an opportunity to take over.
For someone who has covered countless Tory mini-budgets, it is impressive that they are still surprised that the Tories come out with Tory policies. They did the bare minimum to look good, anyone who expected more is naive and must have been ignoring the past few years of corruption and the lies the government has peddled.
It’s not even remotely surprising.
Ultimately the Tories have absolutely no incentive to do anything.
They don’t have to have a GE for another 2 years so all they are going to do until then is make bank.
When the next GE is announced they will spunk a load of cash increasing benefits, increasing pensions etc etc and people will say how amazing they are and keep them in power.
If the British Public has shown anything in last decade is that they only care about what has happened in the previous few weeks.
Come the next GE everything that has happened over the Pandemic, this budget and everything that has happened will be long forgotten.
We hope to get rid of our Republican Russians a bit more during this next elections but we’ll see … when do you all get a new batch of scoundrels?
Note: I had an old PoliSci prof who spent WWII in a POW camp and he said, “Vote out our rascals, get new rascals.” … but, ya know, he’d seen stuff he’d not liked and was kinda over it.
Who really thought the elite were going to help? Seriously. To them we are but cattle that work so that society runs for them. Our lives don’t mean anything we already own so little, have so little compared to them. They were never going to share. Especially if it means less for them.
They will calculate the very minimum that they can give that can be afforded without upsetting the status quo and then dress it up as much as possible as to fool people to vote for them again.
For fuck sake. The only fucking thing that will work is to stop. Everyone has to threaten the system by not complying. But no one is willing to do that. Even myself. I work to put food on the table. It’s a tragedy in the making. It will get worse before people turn against them.
