How do you go from an economist at the bank of England to a retail banker at Halifax? I suspect more discrepancies and lies will be exposed soon.
Expect many pearls to be clutched by tories ignoring the rampant corruption and lawlessness in their own party for years. The left have always been held to a higher standard.

I listened to the report earlier, it does feel like the reporter is trying to generate a scandal out of nothing. CV said at Bank of England for the best part of a decade, was there between 5 and 6 years. So technically correct….
I guess this particular reporter has never been on LinkedIn
May be working at the BOE *felt* like 10 years
Most people in the UK of a certain age worked in a bank call centre like Rachel.
There’s not many of us that could blag that to the point of being chancellor and crashing the economy.
You’ve got to have respect for her absolute brass neck.
As part of the BBCs balanced journalism they had to find something bad to say about her since they also had to report the economy grew
And they say politicians aren’t in touch with the common man
