  1. It always starts with what everything thinks is a dumb joke…

  2. That’s a good point. Anybody check into this before putting our asshole in place of our mouth?

  3. Where are Canada’s allies, why do they remain silent?

  4. And what are the consequences for violating that international law?

  5. Canada really needs to start bolstering its alliances. And maybe talking to Great Britain and ask him if they’re willing to help defend the 49th.

  6. NATO needs to take these threats seriously and be ready to defend Canada’s sovereignty

  7. Since when has the US cared about international law? Lol.

  8. I don’t even have full faith nato will come to our aid if america invades. They’ll write a sternly worded letter

  9. >The Canadian ambassador to France says threats by United States President Donald Trump to invade another country violate international law.

    >“I’m just saying that in order to respect international law, you don’t threaten your neighbors by invasion,” Stéphane Dion said.

    >Trump has said he wouldn’t rule out using military force to take over Greenland, which is part of Denmark.

    >Trump said again Sunday that he wants to see Canada become a U.S. state, after being asked about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s recent comments saying that that Trump is not joking.

    >In response to a question about Greenland, Dion said such threats are not normal and violate the UN Charter. He said that it’s not just against international law to invade another country but also to threaten to do so.

    >The U.S. president also said Sunday he will formally announce 25 per cent tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports on Monday, including from Canada.

    >He made the comments as Trudeau is in Paris to attend the global summit on artificial intelligence. Late Sunday evening following a dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron, Trudeau did not answer reporters’ questions about the Trump’s statements.

    >Dion said Canada and European countries are working on a cohesive strategy to address tariff threats from the United States.

    >“Canada and Mexico are the first ones, but Europeans know that they may be targeted as well. We’re anticipating that. They are working with us about how can we have a cohesive way to convince the US administration that trade wars are painful for everyone… and not something that you should do between friends.”

    >U.S. Vice President JD Vance is also in Paris for the AI Action Summit, but it’s not clear whether he will meet with Trudeau, as no meeting has been announced to date.

    >Story continues below advertisement

    >Both Canada and Mexico were granted at least 30-day reprieves from the Trump’s broad-based tariff threat being realized just last week.

    >On Wednesday, Trudeau will travel to Brussels to meet with E.U. leaders, which could offer Canada an opportunity to shore up its relationship with the European Union in the context of Trump’s threats.

    >Dion told reporters Monday Canada won’t be successful in trade diversification unless that effort includes Europe.

    >“Now that we see that unfortunately for now at least the U.S. administration is not as reliable as we thought, not respecting treaties as we thought, we need Europeans and Canadians to work very closely together,” Dion said.

  10. Trump just wants to have a BIGGER invasion then Xi and Putin. Canada + Greenland > Ukraine + Taiwan.

  11. Won’t happen but it’s highly disrespectful to even suggest a thing like invasion.

  12. He doesn’t care about laws in his country, do you really think that he cares about international law?

  13. No it doesn’t. The US doesn’t recognize international law. Never have, unless they can twist it to their advantage.

  14. Will the US military rather invade Canada or replace Trump in a coup?

  15. Trump doesn’t care about law, as he only cares about himself. He’s going to isolate his citizens for nothing.

  16. It’s about time we call a spade a spade and recognize that fist salute of his for what it is. His Hitler salute.

  17. I fucking hate this so much. Im a canadian living on the border and all i can think is how this feels exactly like right before russia invaded ukraine. The articlea being written makes me feel like its only a matter of time until i face a US occupation and im scared shitless. I fucking hate this timeline. I want off Mr Bones wild ride.

  18. NATO has to help us. Its illegal to attack another NATO country. Yiu have to leave or be kicked out.

Don’t forget the US military will be fighting civil unrest in their own country .
Canada, Hamas , Greenland and Panama . Also he has offered to send troops to Unkraine for,500 billion dollars of minerals.
All these lifes of innocent people and US troops so Trumps billiinares get what they want.
Now we no why Zuckerberg built a manision in ground in Hawaii he knew what was coming.

  19. Yeah, well… what hasn’t trump said or done that *doesn’t* violate a law (international or domestic)?

  20. They should revoke musks citizenship.
Canadian armed forces should offer weekend training for those interested

  21. Sanctions please. I don’t care what it does to my quality of life. Fuck this guy

  22. America you fucking morons. I say we expel the US ambassador or block trumps pick

  23. Where’s the UK? Why aren’t they backing us up. Why do we have those fuckers on our money if they are just going to hide during this crucial moment.

  24. I can look out my window in Canada, and see the mountains in Washington state. I used to love the view, and now I hate what it represents.

Never did I think there would be a threat of invasion from our neighbours to the south.

I’m really worried for the future of Canada, and my unborn son.

  25. Well there’s a headline that would have seemed a tad absurd a few weeks ago

  26. Arrest him then.

Edit: I’m so tired of this elitist crap. If someone does something illegal, fucking arrest them. Stop complaining about all the illegal shit they are doing. If you aren’t going to arrest them, stop acting like what he is doing is so awful. We KNOW. It’s the same people who aren’t doing fucking thing about it. Just stop blowing hot air if you aren’t going to do something.

  27. You guys need to do something about this idiot. It’s been 3 weeks and he has the world on the verge of WW3.

  28. This whole thing was honestly the stupidest way you could put such a large wedge between us and our closest allies

  29. F-ck TrumpMusk – he’s an idiot on foreign policy. A-holes need to be impeached.

  30. As a Canadian, I would take a few permanent non-American NATO bases on Canadian soil. Just in case…

  31. When will Canada eject US diplomats and close their consulates?

  32. Me and every other Canadian aren’t fucking interested in being this piece of shit’s Sudetenland

  33. As an American, my lazy ass would get off the couch and fight for Canada if this were to happen.

  34. I think this is one case where Individual citizens can and should start to help. Unlike when the USA goes to attack far off places like the middle east or Vietnam, the regular citizens have a connection to people here in Canada. We have friends across the border. We share certain cultural settings.

We need to have frank discussions with the people we know and in some ways do a bit of an information campaign. People aren’t going to willingly invade their friends if they are actually friends. I know people are going to say it’s wishful thinking, but I think I’m being realistic when a military is made up of people. It’s a matter of getting in there and establishing ourselves before we are seen as others.

  35. When there is no body to enforce the law it becomes more of a “guideline” or “aspiration” or “joke”.

  36. Any US military personnel here? Americans have fought along side Canadians for 100 years, Tramp thinks hes gonna convince his entire military to invade a country thats very similar to the US?

  37. Imagine what these POS would do with the treaties, our rivers and lakes, our cities, they would rob out bank accounts. half of us will be begging the streets with no chance of getting medical insurance for pre existing conditions.

  38. Meanwhile I’m over here waiting for him to lower gasoline and grocery prices. The president of “no new wars”.
